Hungarian GP collision- Daniel Ricciardo recieves apology from Verstappen
Red Bull’s Max Verstappen has apologised in public to his teammate Daniel Ricciardo after their collision in the opening lap of Sunday’s Hungarian GP. This collision led to an early retirement for Ricciardo, who remains as the only non-Mercedes or Ferrari driver to win a Grand Prix in the 2017 F1 season.
The 2 drivers collided at Turn 2 after Verstappen tried a move down the inside of Ricciardo, causing severe damage to the Australian’s car. After some time, Ricciardo cited inexperience on the part of 19-year-old Verstappen before calling the teenager “an amateur” for making “a very terrible mistake.”
